🇦🇹 In German

Everything tastes great with butter, and it’s even more accurate with miso in it!

Miso butter is one of the most basic and delicious seasonings. It’s also an easy method to make vegan butter taste extra rich and loaded with umami flavor. No matter with which kind of butter, you can eat miso butter with everything: spread it on toast, melt it over roasted vegetables, with any kind of BBQ, as an extra ingredient with noodles, or just melt it on top of your steak or grilled tofu. Endless possibilities!

Version 1

When I’m in a hurry and don’t want to cook an elaborate meal, I like to use miso butter. It goes well with hot noodles only or combine miso butter with any fried protein or vegetable, and it’s a fine dish.

Ingredients:

  • 250 g (1 cup) unsalted butter or plant based butter

  • 2 tablespoons dark miso

Directions:

  • Option 1:
    • Combine room temperature butter and miso. It goes the fastest using a hand mixer. Or Instead, use a fork or a whisk. A food processor also works well.
    • Put it in a nice jar and keep it in the fridge.
  • Option 2:
    • With a hand mixer, whip room-warm butter until creamy. Put 2 tablespoons of miso in an extra bowl.  Now you need a piping bag.  Spread the miso first, then fill up the butter.  This is a bit of a tease, but it doesn’t have to be exact.
    • Pipe miso butter into a jar and place in the refrigerator.

Notes:

  • You can prepare miso butter very well on stock. Then wrap in baking paper, make a roll and freeze.
